Terms of Service
Effective date: August 21, 2026
These Terms govern your use of Takashima Ekidan (also referred to as GaoDao), an AI-assisted I Ching reading service. By accessing the website, creating an account, or purchasing a membership, you agree to these Terms.
1. Service description
Takashima Ekidan provides digital I Ching readings, classical source excerpts, AI-assisted interpretations, reading history, and follow-up questions. The service is intended for personal reflection and entertainment.
- The service does not predict outcomes with certainty.
- The service is not a substitute for medical, mental-health, legal, financial, employment, safety, or other professional advice.
- You remain responsible for your decisions and actions.
2. Accounts and eligibility
You must provide accurate account information, keep your credentials secure, and promptly notify us of suspected unauthorized use. You must be legally able to enter into this agreement. If you are a minor, you may use the service only with permission from a parent or guardian where permitted by law.
3. Guest reflection and membership plans
A visitor may receive one initial personalized reflection without an account or payment, subject to reasonable abuse-prevention and availability limits. Unlimited readings, up to three focused follow-up questions per reading, and cloud history require an active membership. GaoDao currently offers recurring monthly and annual memberships.
- The selected membership renews automatically at the price displayed at checkout until canceled.
- Affirmative automatic-renewal consent is required before checkout.
- Existing legacy passes or trials remain governed by the terms shown when they were purchased or started; they are no longer offered to new customers.
4. Payment, renewal, cancellation, and refunds
Creem processes GaoDao payments and acts as Merchant of Record. Checkout identifies the selected plan, price, taxes, and renewal terms before confirmation.
- You can cancel future renewals through the customer portal available from the membership page.
- Cancellation stops future renewals; access normally continues through the current paid billing period shown in your account.
- The Refund Policy explains how to request a review of erroneous, duplicate, or disputed charges. Applicable mandatory consumer rights are not limited.
5. Acceptable use
You may not misuse the service or help others do so.
- Do not use the service for unlawful, fraudulent, harmful, abusive, or deceptive activity.
- Do not probe, disrupt, reverse engineer, scrape at scale, bypass access controls, or overload the service.
- Do not submit content that violates another person’s privacy, intellectual property, or other rights.
- Do not use automated access unless we have authorized it in writing.
6. Your content and privacy
You retain rights in questions and other content you submit. You grant us a limited license to process that content only as needed to operate, secure, and improve the service. Our Privacy Policy explains data handling in more detail.
7. Intellectual property
The website, software, design, branding, and original service materials are owned by or licensed to Takashima Ekidan. Classical public-domain texts remain subject to their applicable status. These Terms do not grant you ownership of the service or permission to copy, resell, or create a competing database from it.
8. AI output and disclaimers
AI-generated interpretations can be incomplete, inaccurate, or unsuitable for your circumstances. We do not guarantee a particular result, uninterrupted availability, or that generated content will be error-free. Use judgment and consult a qualified professional for consequential decisions.
9. Suspension and termination
We may limit, suspend, or terminate access when reasonably necessary for security, abuse prevention, legal compliance, nonpayment, or a material violation of these Terms. You may stop using the service at any time and may request account deletion, subject to required retention of transaction or security records.
10. Liability and mandatory consumer rights
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the service is provided “as is” and “as available,” and we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from reliance on readings or AI output. Nothing in these Terms excludes rights or liabilities that cannot legally be excluded, including mandatory consumer protections.
11. Changes and contact
We may update these Terms as the service changes. The effective date above identifies the latest version. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised Terms where legally permitted. Contact customer support with questions, complaints, cancellation issues, or refund requests.
