Privacy Policy
Effective date: August 21, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Takashima Ekidan (also referred to as GaoDao, “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use our website, account features, AI-assisted I Ching readings, and paid membership.
1. Information we collect
We collect information you provide directly, including your account name or email address, password credentials in hashed form, questions submitted for readings, follow-up messages, and customer-support communications. When you choose Sign in with Google, Google provides a verified account identifier, email address, and basic profile information with your consent; we do not receive your Google password.
- Account and authentication information, including email-verification and Google sign-in identifiers.
- Reading questions, generated interpretations, and reading history when saved to your account.
- When you enable long-term memory, short summaries of durable goals, preferences, and ongoing context extracted from your reading conversations.
- Subscription status and transaction references received from our payment provider. We do not store full payment-card details.
- Technical information such as IP address, browser type, device information, request logs, and security events.
2. How we use information
We use information to provide and improve the service, authenticate accounts, generate and save readings, process memberships, respond to support requests, prevent abuse, maintain security, and comply with legal obligations.
- To perform the service you request and manage your account.
- To process payments and maintain subscription entitlements.
- To diagnose errors, measure reliability, and protect users and the service.
- To communicate about transactions, service changes, security, and support.
3. AI processing
Questions and relevant I Ching source material may be sent to an AI service provider to generate an interpretation. Long-term memory is enabled by default, so a model may also identify concise, durable notes from a conversation for future readings. You can disable memory or clear saved notes at any time in website settings. Do not submit phone numbers, government identifiers, payment-card details, health records, or other sensitive personal information in a reading question.
- Long-term memory can be disabled at any time from website settings.
- Automated filters are used to reject common identifiers and sensitive data, but you should still avoid submitting sensitive information.
- AI-generated output may be inaccurate and is provided for reflection and entertainment.
- AI output is not medical, legal, financial, psychological, or other professional advice.
4. Payments
Creem processes GaoDao's monthly and annual memberships and acts as Merchant of Record. Creem processes checkout, tax, payment, refund, and subscription information under its own privacy terms. We receive limited transaction and membership information needed to provide access.
- We do not receive or store your complete card number.
- The payment provider may collect billing information, tax location, and fraud-prevention signals directly from you.
5. Analytics, advertising measurement, and cookies
We record privacy-limited first-party funnel events in our database to understand whether a visit progresses to product use, registration, checkout, or purchase. Before you make a cookie choice, Google Analytics may receive cookieless measurement signals with analytics storage denied. If you grant permission, Google Analytics cookies and TikTok advertising measurement are enabled; if you reject, those optional cookies remain disabled.
- First-party funnel records use a random session-scoped identifier, event name, event time, page path, and campaign identifiers. They do not contain IP addresses, reading questions, hexagrams, AI interpretations, email addresses, passwords, or payment-card details.
- Cookieless Google signals do not use a stored GA client ID. Full Google Analytics session measurement and TikTok click identifiers are used only after permission.
- Purchase status and revenue in our database remain the financial source of truth.
- You can reject optional cookies in the consent notice or reopen Cookie settings from the site footer.
6. Sharing and service providers
We share information only as needed with providers that support hosting, databases, AI generation, authentication, operational logs, customer support, payment processing, and—only with consent—advertising measurement. We may also disclose information when required by law, to enforce our agreements, or to protect users, the public, or our rights.
- We do not sell personal information.
- We do not use reading questions for third-party advertising.
7. Retention and security
We retain account and reading information while your account is active and as reasonably necessary to provide the service, resolve disputes, prevent fraud, and meet legal or accounting obligations. Email verification codes are hashed, expire after a short period, and are deleted after successful use. Long-term memory notes remain until you clear them or delete your account, subject to limited backup and legal-retention periods. We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, but no online service can guarantee absolute security.
8. Your choices and rights
You may view saved memory notes, disable future memory use, and clear all saved memory from the website settings. Disabling memory stops retrieval and new memory extraction but does not delete existing notes; the separate clear action deletes them. You may also request access, correction, export, or deletion of personal information, subject to identity verification and legal retention requirements. Contact our support email to exercise these rights.
9. International use and children
Our providers may process information in countries other than your own. By using the service, you understand that information may be transferred internationally subject to applicable safeguards. The service is not directed to children under 13, and users who are minors must have permission from a parent or guardian where required.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the service or legal requirements change. The effective date above shows the latest revision. Material changes will be announced on the website or through an appropriate account notice.
